Visit to National Memorial Arboretum

A group of 17 members of the Club visited the National Memorial Arboretum on Monday the 23rd September. We met at 10.45am and went to the Chapel where they have a short service of Remembrance and then an interesting talk on how the Memorial Arboretum was acquired, designed and built.

From there we took a ride on the Land Train with a running commentary which took us on a tour of the grounds and the symbolism behind the memorials. The tour lasted about 55 minutes.

After the tour we went to the Restaurant and had lunch. Lunch completed everyone went their own way to look at the exhibits and exhibitions that they were most interested in.

A most enjoyable day was had by all.
