Club Meeting 29th July 2019- Tree Tops Hospice

At todays meeting we invited guests from neighbouring Rotary Clubs to join us to hear our guest speaker Adela Appleby the Hospice Campaign Fund Raising Manager to tell us about the fund raising, building and the day to day running of the new hospice to be built at Risley, Derbyshire at a cost of £3 million together with a further £2 million running costs for the first year all of which will have to be raised by donations.

At present Tree Tops Hospice Care provides an Out-Patient and at home service for patients and their families for end of life care.  Currently, there are no independent hospice beds available in the South of Derbyshire or South Nottinghamshire

Tree Tops Hospice Care have been granted planning permission to build a 12 bedded In-Patient Unit on their Risley site which will cater for patients and their families from South Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire.

The care patients receive while at Tree Tops Hospice is provided completely free of charge.

The Rotary Clubs in South Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire have joined together and pledged to raise sufficient monies to pay for the building and sponsoring of one of the bedrooms.

Alfreton Rotary Club have organised a Charity Concert with the proceeds being donated towards Rotary District 1220 Tree Tops Hospice sponsorship fund.
